Gothic 3 Severe Lag

Hi, I just bought Gothic III hoping to play a great game only to realize on lowest settings it runs like a slug! 10-20fps! I can play fallout 3 with 60 fps and cod 4 with 100 fps. Oblivion on highest aswell.

My specs:
AMD Athlon 4850e 2.5ghz dual core
HIS Ati Radeon 4850 Iceq4 Turbo
2gigs of ram
Realtek HD sound card
Gigabyte MOBO

That should be enough...btw i have all latest patches and all latest drivers, i also tried the font fix. Didn't work

Hi Zeating, follow the steps located here:

If they do not solve the problem, make sure you have the latest AMD dualcore drivers - located here:

http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/cont...ties/Setup.exe

If that doesn't help then could you please post your PSU information as well, in case you don't know, the PSU is the Power Supply Unit - it is located inside your case. To get the details on it, open the case and look at the PSU. There will be large sticker on the side, post everything located on the sticker.

I think that the game is very poorly optimized, is it not? I'd like to see a reply with someone that has played the game. I'm almost sure its not my system.

Edit: I installed the AMD Driver + Dual Core Optimizer. It crashes as soon as i start the Optimizer.

I played Gothic 3 for about an hour or 2, thought it was lame, chucked it in the cupboard, uninstalled and never played it again.

Could you post your PSU wattage and voltages please?

I had this same problem i just added another to gigs to the board and it worked flawlessly
