Black Screen
Ok well my friend recently gifted me Counter Strike 1.6 thru steam to me and when I attempted to load it up ithe screen went black like it was about to load up so i waited a little bit but the screen just stayed black. I tried to crtl+alt+del out and alt+tab out but it didn't work so I just hit the power button on my computer. At first I thought it was just an isolated incident but today when I tried to load up my Warcraft 3, which I just installed, had the same issue. I reinstalled both multiple times. I am currently running windows vista 64-bit and my drivers are up to date. Please help and thanks.

Hi BrOcKs1010, you've posted most of the important stuff, but haven't listed a few things.
Could you please post your system specs according to the instructions listed here: http://www.techsupportforum.com/558208-post1.html Having all the system specs is very important.

Re: Black Screen
Hi BrOcKs1010.
You might want to allow at least a few hours to get a reply. All the volunteers here have lives too =) As for the problem, have you tried lowering the resolution or refresh rate of your monitor? Do you get an 'Out of range' message when you try and load up a game? Are there any games on this computer that you can play? |

![]() How do I go about lowering the refresh rate? I will try lowering the resolution. I do not get any type of error. the screen goes like like its about to load it up but it just stays black. Yes I can play Counter Strike:Source, Team Fortress 2, The Sims 2&3, Half-Life 2, Left 4 Dead, and Fallout 3. Quote:
Where can I find this information? that Everest program doesn't recognize it. EDIT: So I just tried lowering the refresh rate and lowering the resolution and it did not work for either game. Last edited by BrOcKs1010; 06-30-2009 at 01:17 PM. |

Re: Black Screen
Have you tried re-installing the game? This may help because the files may be corrupt.
Uninstall first with Revo Uninstaller from my sig. And to find the brand and wattage of your power supply you have to open the case and look on the label of the box with loads of wires coming out of it. |

Re: Black Screen
That is the only way since the power supply does not give any information to the computer, just power.

Re: Black Screen
Okay. I opened up my machine. It didn't tell me exactly what so I wrote down whatever was in English.
![]() It made no sense to me but maybe it'll make sense to you so here you go: Delta Electronics Inc. Model: DPS-350XB-2A REV Input:100-127V-/10A,200-240v-/5A 47Hz-63Hz Output: +12VA/12A+12VB/18A Max Power +5V /18A +5Vsb /2A 350W +3.3V/17A -12V/0.8A The Combined Power On 12 VA+12VB Total 300W Max +12VA&+12VB 300W The Combined Power on +5V&+3.3V Total 160W Max +5V&+3.3V Yup so that's what I saw in small writing on the box with loads of wires coming out. |
