Computer Freezing

Hi, i'm not sure if this is a vista problem but here i go..

I got my Hp Pavilion dv600 about a year ago and it had a freezing problem and when i would open quickplay, the computer would freeze for 10 seconds and then continue. I didn't find that as a big problem but the main problem was when i was trying to play games. i would go into a game and when every i would open a window or do something in a game it would freeze and make a Beep sound. This happened to all of my installed games. but the games i got off the internet and only needed to be extracted didn't have any problems.

Does anyone know how i could fix this problem?

Thanks in advance!

Hi lt1camaro and welcome to TSF,

Have you defragmented your laptops HDD recently?
Can you download Everest from my sig and go to Sensor and post down the temperatures.
What games does this occur on?

Re: Computer Freezing

the temperatures are

CPU 51oC (122 oF)
CpU #1/Core #1 51 oC (124 oF)
CpU #1/Core #2 51 oC (124 oF)
GPU Diode 58 oC (136 oF)

This happens to every game i install on my computer. like Fallout 3 , Grand theft auto San Andreas, Call of Duty 4 Modern warfare, Halo 1 and 2, Farcry , Counter Strike, and much more.. My cousin has the same computer as me, and he can run all the games i cant .

Re: Computer Freezing

If you illegally downloaded these games then we can't help you any further.

Also, you're trying to run heavy games on a laptop. Doesn't work very well in most cases.

Re: Computer Freezing

Are those temps on Idle or while playing games?
If they are idle temps they are a bit high even though laptops generally have a higher temps then desktop PCs.

You might want to invest in a cooling Pad if you havn't already.
