sims 3 help

heyy, i have the sims 3, i downloaded it, i played it, then i quit it.

later on in the day i wanted to show my sister what sims they had and the sims that i had made. When it gets to the neighborhood that my sims are in, the screen turns black. It does this everytime, in the same exactspot. Is this a glitch? What can i do to fix this?

Where did you download the game from?
