[SOLVED] DirectX Problem?

Recently most games on my computer have just stopped working, or are acting very strange. For example, when i go into halo 1 sometimes i can't see any models, and some maps dont work and it crashes. Also if i try to play Call of Duty 4 when it loads it says "DIRECT X FAILURE" I've tried reinstalling and getting the latest versions of DirectX but nothing is working.. I've also tried reinstalling + updating my graphics drivers.
I have a HIS ATI Radeon 4850

Edit: Also, i deleted Directx 9 and in Dxdiag it says Direct X version unknown, now when i try to install it again it says "An internal error has occurred please refer to DXError.log and DirectX.log in your windows folder to determine problem"

hello and welcome to TSF
you can't delete Dx9 so please don't do that again or you will harm your PC
now let's see if you can install dx9
first of all you need to fix the directx registry so try download this file:
http://www.freewebs.com/clanhzo/dx9.rar
it's in rar format so you need winzip or winrar or 7zip to extract the file
when you extract it, double click on it to add it to the registry
now restart your PC, then download the latest Dx9.0c from my sig and see if that works for you

Direct X installed in like less than a second.
Still doesn't work.. I think i need to format.

If you ca Format the PC do it, it'll help and it'll give your PC a fresh start

Did a clean format, now the game works.
