Display driver IGFX has stopped working and has recovered
Display driver IGFX has stopped working and has recovered is the problem that I am having. I know that this is because I am over tasking my display driver and I thinks its because of how little ram I have for my graphics card.
Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Mobile Report Report Date: 06/19/2009 Report Time[hr:mm:ss]: 08:42:04 Driver Version: 7.14.10.1114 Operating System: * , (6.0.6000) Default Language: English DirectX* Version: 10.0 Physical Memory: 2038 MB Minimum Graphics Memory: 8 MB Maximum Graphics Memory: 224 MB Graphics Memory in Use: 82 MB Processor: x86 family 6 Model 15 Stepping 2 Processor Speed: 1828 MHZ Vendor ID: 8086 Device ID: 27A2 Device Revision: 03 * Accelerator Information * Accelerator in Use: Mobile Intel(R) 945GM Express Chipset Family Video BIOS: 1358 Current Graphics Mode: 1024 by 768 True Color (60 Hz) * Devices Connected to the Graphics Accelerator * Active Notebook Displays: 1 * Notebook * Monitor Name: Toshiba Internal 1024x768 Panel Display Type: Digital Gamma Value: 3.54 DDC2 Protocol: Supported Maximum Image Size: Horizontal: Not Available Vertical: Not Available Monitor Supported Modes: 1024 by 768 (60 Hz) Display Power Management Support: Standby Mode: Not Supported Suspend Mode: Not Supported Active Off Mode: Supported * SDVO Encoder Report * ** Encoder 1 ** Vendor ID: Chrontel Device ID: 67 Device Revision: 0 Major Version: 1 Minor Version: 1 * Other names and brands are the property of their respective owners. Here is all my system information. I know I have two Gigs of Ram but only 224MB are for my graphics. Out side of games I never use more than 1 gig of Ram so can I give more ram to my graphic or is there anything else I can do to make my computer better. |

Re: Display driver IGFX has stopped working and has recovered
Well, these are integrated graphics so you won't get any graphically intense games that work. And i don't think there is a way to make integrated graphics use more RAM. What games are you playing when this error occurres?

Re: Display driver IGFX has stopped working and has recovered
Like floop said, intel graphics are made for stuff such as browsing the internet, not games. Maybe old games like starcraft, warcraft 3 and diablo 2 but that is about it.
