Re: Runescape issue

if you are using Firefox, try to clear all cookies and private data from it, to do that:
when in firefox, choose Tools -> Options -> Privacy
under private data, choose clear now
select all available options and click on clear private data now

Re: Runescape issue

ok try this,
when you are in IE, go to Tools -> internet Options -> security
now choose restricted sites and look if you can find Runescape in it
if not just add it to the trusted sites
write this: http://www.runescape.com
and press add
also reduce the security level to medium
and untick "enable protected mode..."
now go to "General" tab, under browsing history, press delete, to remove all cookies, temp internet folders and history...
after that restart your browser and try again

Re: Runescape issue

Don't know if this helps or not but...

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file can be edited to do something similar.

Like if I add the lines:
74.125.45.100 www.runescape.com
74.125.45.100 runescape.com
74.125.45.100 runescape

Anytime I try to go to runescape, it will re-direct me to google. Even when I click that link that Zealex provided.

Probably not the case, but just check out that file, open it in notepad or something. Don't edit it though.

Re: Runescape issue

I've had this issue before!!!!

I'd suggest either reinstalling Java (yes, again) OR maybe if you keep restarting your system, it'll be fixed.

I know that after a couple of days having the issue you've described, I gave up on it. Then, a couple days later, I decided to try it again and it worked. I think it just has a problem with you connecting to the server, that's all. Clear everything in your web browser, and look around in My Documents for any files from Jagex/RuneScape.

Re: Runescape issue

Ya usually the problem will fix itself...

You could always use a tool called SwiftKit.

http://www.swiftkit.net/index.php?page=downloads

It's awesome. Loaded with tons of features. And it's FREE.

Re: Runescape issue

It basically is just a RuneScape player addon. You install it, create a profile, and then you can play RuneScape directly through it. It SHOULD work for you. It did for me.

It lets you write notes, use skill calculators, look up highscores, etc.
It's really awesome.

Also, that file that I suggested you delete earlier, I found out where it's located.

It's inside your account folder. So, if you go to this directory:
C:\Users\YourAccountName\
You should be able to find it. It says Jagex somewhere in the title.

Re: Runescape issue

^I second that...

But use SwiftKit is you're an avid RS player who often is checking on prices or something.
