Wolveren orogins and Cod 4 MULTIPLAYER wont run (graphics problem)

Ok. this one actually has me completely stuck.

Two of my favorite game, cod 4 multilayer and my new x-men origins wont run, I get audio and i can hear the tinkling sound of my mouse browsing a menu if i wait the the intro noise to go away but all I can see is a collection of fuzzy black and white lines crossing a black background.

However, Cod 4 single player, far cry 2, fallout 3, Rome total war and medieval 2 total war work fine.

I have tried reinstalling xmen origins but no joy there and I don't wish to reinstall cod 4 due to having lost the disk (no-cd).

I am running a nvidia 8800 gt with the latest driver and windows sp 3.

hello Ad,
what is your current PSU?
also try to lower the refresh rate of you monitor
control Panel -< Display -> Settings -> Advanced -> monitor

a tr2 470w. I think that its all that i need- i am using mt gcarg 1 250gig sata and my motherboard - a winfast and ill look at hrte screen refresh.

60 hertz is my only option with both my nvidia and display controlls

your PSU is very weak to run the 8800 GT
it'll get damaged in time and take some PC parts with it
you need to get a quality PSU like the corsair 650 W it's very reliable

So is that all you can think of? I am gonna do a full pc upgrade soon - i use novatech. more memory, better graphics card (still nvidia caus Linux likes it) new PSU and new motherboard.not to mention a new mouse... so im gonna hold off getting an new one for now.

What do you use Novatech for?

I would say the first thing you sghould do is gett the Corsair 650w or higher depending on what you want t o upgrade to. The Corsair 850w is excellent bang for your buck.

Your current system is dangerously underloaded and being stressed bcasue of the poor PSU.

Download the latest Directx 9
