BF2 error

When I try to load BF2, it loads to a blank screen.. So I decided to make it load in windowed mode so it would display an error if there was any.

I got this error:

I have absolutely NO clue what this means.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

FWIW, I'm running an HP DV6401ca laptop.

Re: BF2 error

Tried installing the 1.41 patch, and still the same thing, except now instead of D:\DiceCanada\BoosterPack2, it's D:\Aphrodite\BF2_1.4, rest is the same.

Thing is, there's no such files on my D: drive... My D drive is my backup drive.

get the latest Directx 9.0c from my sig

Re: BF2 error

Your laptop uses onboard Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 which supports Pixel Shader 2.0, Vertex Shader 3.0 (Software Transform & Lighting), and DirectX 9.

System Requirements for BF2: http://planetbattlefield.gamespy.com...&id=189&game=4
# 500MHz CPU
# 128 MB of RAM
# 3D accelerated 32 MB video card or equivalent with HW-T&L (Hardware Transform & Lighting) and 24-bit z-buffer

This means that you need to use a proper graphics card that supports the game's advanced graphics features. This is a common problem with laptops that use onboard graphics and are not designed for modern games like BF2.

Re: BF2 error

If you do buy a computer for games, just get a desktop. You'll be able to upgrade it and it it'll cost you 50% less compared to a laptop of the same performance.

Re: BF2 error

Yeah, the only reason I'm on a laptop is because my old desktop died and my friend was nice enough to give me his laptop til I have some money for a computer.

Re: BF2 error

if you know how to build a computer that is cheaper, if you want to buy a computer...stay away from stuff like ibuypower, cyberpower as they make high end comps with low end parts.

Re: BF2 error

No money at all, but I'm selling off some stuff I don't use... That'll either go to guitar stuff or computer stuff, whatever I'm feeling at the time.
