Call of Duty 2 on Steam freezes up on load up. Help pl0x.

I got CoD2 on steam, and every time I try to play multiplayer, it freezes and stutters when it's going into the game. It opens up, but everything stays black and I can see part of the activision logo, but it's frozen. I can also hear the backround music. I've allowed my firewall to define it as a trusted program. I don't know what else there is to do. :( My specs can run the game fine, I've done it before. I just reformatted windows and set up everything, got the latest drivers and ****, and when I open up CoD2 MP, it does this.

First, download Service Pack 3, next make sure your Anti-virus is not blocking the game, if that does not work then try reinstalling the game using this

I already got service pack three, I just didn't update my forum thingy. I'm pretty sure my anti-virus isn't blocking it, I already allowed it as a trusted program. I also just reformatted my PC, and I just installed CoD2 after I got all the latest drivers.

Have you had ANY hardware changes?

What is your router's make and model.

You'll probably need to port forward the game.
