Re: Oblivion auto run and setup

hello and welcome to TSF

first of all, let's see if there is a blue screen appearing before the restart
do this :
right click on "My Computer" -> Properties -> Advanced
under startup and recovery, choose settings, uncheck "automatically restart"
now restart your PC
after that try to run the game's setup
if there is a Blue Screen, just let us know

2nd : disable Autorun

to disable autorun do this :

Start -> Run
type : regedit

now, on the left you will see a list that starts with "My Computer"

press the "+" beside "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" -> System -> Current Control Set -> Services -> cdrom
now choose cdrom, you will see a list on the right
the 2nd line is this: "Autorun"
double click on it, you will open a command
in the Value Data there is a "1", just change it to "0" and click ok
restart your PC
that way autorun is disabled
please follow the instructions carefully and it is harmful
now when you insert the CD or DVD, the setup won't auto launch
just go to the DVD and launch the setup manually
Remember : to re-enable autorun again, just replace "0" with "1" and restart

Re: Oblivion auto run and setup

If you've got any Roxio CD-burning software installed, uninstall it and reboot.

Re: Oblivion auto run and setup

Not that I know of. The blue screen is caused by Roxio's UDF Reader driver.

Re: Oblivion auto run and setup

I have Roxio and my Oblivion installed without any problems.

Now, if you had Oblivion GOTY with Shivering Isles....and installed the expansion after Oblivion, then perhaps the problem was cause by the Shivering Isles "DRM". (Although it is supposed to be a very simple type)

Re: Oblivion auto run and setup

just try to remove Roxio and install the game, if that works, then the problem is from Roxio, and if you really want to play the game
