Re: Help with Gauging New Desktop Stats

you can get very good fps with that PC
but the only problem is that it has a weak and a low quality Power Supply
you should get this one instead :
Corsair 750 W
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...=Corsair%20750
114 $, 104.49$ after rebate

it's the best you can get and can handle your PC very well
working with a weak Power supply and especially with the i7 and the 9800 GT can lead to bad consequences, the PSU good get damaged and take PC parts with it

you can also buy a small pc, for less than 900 dollars and still be able to get over 90 frames per second.
you dont sound like an extreme gamer so i recommend not buying something stupid like I7, you could go for an E5200 and a radeon 4770.

PSU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817341018 this will suit your needs, especially with modular cables so you dont have to mess around with the shitty cables. trust me on that (cables are ****!)

sick graphics card thats able to do crysis or any other game at max settings
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102830

cpu + motherboard combo http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.191004

ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820609026 30

case antec 900 ? just be sure to check out the reviews for the case you want

i can recommend a BenQ G2220HD 22" screen, cheap and really rocks.

Re: Help with Gauging New Desktop Stats

just take your time to go through my post, the build i posted will crush anything you throw at it. and you can use the left over money to buy a keyboard/mouse/speakers. i can recommend the #1Razer DiamondBack or the #2Razer DeathAdder.. Keyboards, well, i dont know, whatever suits you best.. speakers the same.

Re: Help with Gauging New Desktop Stats

I wouldn't get the OCZ as it doesn't post its 12v amps.
Get the corsair 750w instead.

Modular is just a lot more expensive for just the convenience of having less cables.

I like everything else you got in your list KharnakIHazWoW.

I don't know if you want to build your own system but you get about the same performance out of a AMD Phenom 2 compared to Core i7.

Re: Help with Gauging New Desktop Stats

The OCZ should have about 72, it has 4 rails me thinks.. but i dont know about the mobo, didnt read alot about it but its still overall better than i7, except it limits you to ati, theres no bad about that though(yay?)

Re: Help with Gauging New Desktop Stats

The motherboard does not limit you to AT as it has no onboard video.

You never want to go with a PSU with multiple 12v rails and they never add up.

with 4 a2 rails you'll probably get around 50 amps or so and then there's the effieceny. they don't add up.

Re: Help with Gauging New Desktop Stats

oh, i thought it had crossfire? might have linked the wrong one then, well okay, i myself havent used any psu's with more than 1 rail, my mate explained to me how they worked, but i guess.. well, ill have to tell him what i just learned :P but anyways, he could/should take the 850w corsair then, will last alot longer.. and imo psu and case is the most important. oh and btw you should stick with windows vista 32bit or xp 32bit, no more than 3.33gb is needed ever, just buy 4gb ram

Re: Help with Gauging New Desktop Stats

Windows 64 bit is very stable and some people do need to use more than 4 gbs of ram for video editing and stuff.

Going 64 bit is like comparing XP to a 16 bit system its simply the way to go.

Re: Help with Gauging New Desktop Stats

64bit is.. meh.. so many driver incompatibilities and **** ups, 32bit is just more stable, and honestly he only needed it for gaming wow, 2gb is already enough.. just.. i know he doesnt want driver problems.. its like, 32bit is modular cables and 64bit is not modular.. 32bit is easy and better to manage, 64bit is difficult and annoying, but i agree in some point that 64bit is nice, i wanted it once myself, but after messing around with it ALOT, trouble shooting and everything, i just went for 32bit cos its simply SO easy..

I have no problem find 64 bit drivers

what are you talking about modular?
I have no problems with 64.

You should try Win 7 64 bit before you rant on about what you don't know about.

So far i know Windows 7 is still a beta, that said, it has a time limit and its non upgradeable, so windows 7 is a no go, and aye 64bit sucks cos LOTS of programs dont work on it aswell...
