EEK! Need answer soon!!

My dad bought me Intel® Desktop Board DG41TY. They say it's built in card has pixelshader 4.0 and Direct X 10 support. Does it mean I can play Prince of Persia Ghosts from the Past and God of War without buying an expensive Graphics card??? can't wait for a positivee answer........

Re: Need answer soon!!

Hello,
Intel® Desktop Board DG41TY is a motherboard
and not a Video Card,
all new motherboards has a PCI Express slot so you can put a PCIe video card in it, that's what they mean that it supports SM 4 and directx 10
that board has the x4500 intel graphics
the intel graphics are very bad performer for games
so if you are planning to play new games, I suggest you buy a PCIe dedicated video card

Well I just got the saphire ati 4890. and its good. cheaper than other 4890's thats all I can say.

You need to specify what you currently have in this desktop,..
CPU ?
Power supply (wattage)
Ram?
etc..

Then people can help you,..

Re: Need answer soon!!

he doesn't need a PCI card
he needs a PCIe card
that what he meant I guess
please post your PSU wattage (W) and the amps under the 12V
what am I talking about?
easy
open your side case of your desktop and look at the Power supply, there is a sticker on it
all I told you to get is written on that sticker

in case you don't know, this is a PSU (Power Supply Unit)

Re: Need answer soon!!

Try this one nVIDIA9400GT 512MB PCI-Express Video Card or some thing like that for game's sake. Cuz your mainboard is not support for DDR3; so i could not recommend other GP card which (use DDR3) better for you.
Ur PSU might be enough (I think so). I'm using 500W for same PC configuration. But never play more than 12h.
