Prince of Persia - 1 frame per second?

Hi,

I downloaded PoP Sands of Time and can't get it to play. I'm running XP SP3, with a nVidia 6200 GPU. When I start the game, it brings up the intro screens and progresses through them at about one frame per second, with no sound. I've got the latest DirectX (9.0c, I think?) and my video drivers are up to date. I have an AMD Athlon XP 2500+ CPU and about 1.3 Gb RAM.

Any suggestions?

Good Old Dad

Re: Prince of Persia - 1 frame per second?

Hi, RockmasteR,

I downloaded it from UBIShop: http://digitalstore.ubi.com/178/17/p...-Time-Download and paid for it, so it should be a good copy, yes?

You need a new Graphics Card a integrated 6200 is extremely weak.

Whats your PSU?

It should only cost around $40 a good GPU, you're most likely going to have AGP card slot.

Re: Prince of Persia - 1 frame per second?

Sorry, but I'm not sure that is good advice. The game is older than my GPU and my computer, so I really think I have a software problem, not hardware.

The graphics card is still really weak companies still make cards as weak as 6200 GPU and people still think that integrated graphics will do.

Re: Prince of Persia - 1 frame per second?

It's not integrated, it's a separate card in an AGP slot. And, to answer your earlier question the PSU is 350w. I checked the game's system requirements, and my system exceeds the recommendations in every respect.

Other, newer games with more advanced requirements play perfectly fine. So maybe it's just a bad copy of the game?

try reinstalling the game

uninstall with revo uninstaller
http://www.revouninstaller.com/

I have heard things about POP sands of time but thats usually with a dual core and just running it on a single core soes it for them.

Try installing an early graphics card driver
