Totally random and frequent FPS drops

I'm getting frequent and totally random FPS drops taking me to like 1-2 FPS while playing at least Warcraft III and World of Warcraft. And yes, I know this isn't the most asskicking gaming computer ever. (actually it is a laptop, because I need to move between a couple of homes)

But the drops.. they're totally random. I'm totally aware that my FPS values are low even normally, especially in big fights in either of those games. The drops however, happen in random places, which means my FPS can drop low even if there isn't much happening on the screen, while staying okay when a lot happens.

And for some background information, I can tell that I had problems with this computer few months after I purchased it in last May, the NVIDIA card overheat frequently causing bluescreens. This was fixed by Fujitsu-Siemens maintenance, who said it was something conflicting between the WLAN card and NVIDIA card, causing the overheating. (after testing countless drivers and useless softwarefixes from Fujitsu-Siemens before that)

download speedfan from my sig and use it to see the temps of the CPU and GPU(video Card)
and post them here.
you have a laptop and with that video card you have (8600 GS) I'm not surprised that lots of FPS drops are happening, and that's because of the heat...

Temp: ~84C

(both peaked as high as almost 90C while doing some hardware-intensive stuff)

and

Core: 75C-80C


They all seem very high values to me, should I buy some kind of external coolers?

My friend living close to me happened to own an Akasa cooler so he came to my house and we tested it out.. the pad was apparently for 15'' laptops and clearly lacked the punch to really cool my laptop, my temperatures were still clearly over 80.

I guess I'm getting the one Mcninjaguy posted, seems to be an efficient cooler and goes at a local store for 60 euros.
