KotoR Issues

I am having problems running both Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2. Whenever I try to run the games, they crash and I receive the Windows "has encountered a problem and needs to close" message. In 1, this happens when I try to start a new game. In 2, it happens before I even get to the main menu. I am only experiencing this error in these 2 games. I used to be able to play KotoR 1, but it stopped working about a month ago. Any Suggestions?
My Computer:
CPU: Intel Pentium D Dual Core 3.40 Ghz
Hard Drive 1: 500 GB
Hard Drive 2: 60 GB
Graphics Card: EVGA Nvidia GeForce 8500 GT 1024 MB
RAM: 3 GB
OS: Windows XP Home SP 3

did you install any new hardware or software?

maybe you should try an earlier graphics card driver 175 or earlier?
