Confused [SOLVED] Ship simulator 08 multiplayer

Hi all, yet another problem by me :)
I was just wondering if anyone could give me advice on this game. When i go onto multiplayer and join one of the vstep servers, it says there is about 120/25 people on each server. So after i've joined i go into the server and find that there is no one on it. There is no one driving around on boats or anything. I have opened the ports on my router. All i would like to do is drive boats with other people in the world :)
Any help as always much appreciated.

Download and install the PF port checker and check the ports you opened.

Yes i have already downloaded the 1.1 - 1.42 patch anyway. Its very annoying because i would really like to see this game in multiplayer.

Re: Ship simulator 08 multiplayer

Have you tried asking on the Ship Simulator forum? They have some technical FAQs that deal with connectivity and firewall problems.

3. Which file do I need to add to my firewall to allow internet access?

For Ship Simulator to successfully connect to the internet, you must make sure that questviewer.exe has access through your firewall. the default location for this is C:\Program Files\Vstep\ShipSim2008\

Re: Ship simulator 08 multiplayer

I just found this out from the forum:
Since the server software was released, multiplayer kind of went downhill. People are spread out across lots of user made servers (which are usually buggy) and it's difficult to find lots of players in one server. The VSTEP servers are usually buggy or closed anyway, and i'd ignore the 238/20 at the side - that's almost always incorrect.
I suppose that there is hardly anyone online...
I'm going to see if i can find some user made servers on google.
Thanks for all of your help people.
