DirectX 9.0c issues?
I had to recently reformat my whole computer due to a bad virus.
So I've just recently reinstalled Rome Total War and RTW Barbarian Invasion. I dxdiag my thing and it says that I have Directx9.0c but everytime I try to load Barbarian invasion it says that "Rome: Total War failed to find DirectX 9, Which is required for the game to run, Please reinstall DirectX." I tried going off a site to update it or whatever but the thing just says there is already a newer version of directX 9 so I dont need it. Can somone help me out? I would really like to get back to taking over the world and playing the modded versions again. |

well go to the Microsoft link I gave you and choose download latest version of directx a bit lower. After you have installed it try your game again :)

Re: DirectX 9.0c issues?
Try to delete directx 9 by going to control panel and then going to add and remove programs and then reinstall it, REBOOT right after install

Re: DirectX 9.0c issues?
Step 1 - Tools
You need to download a free third party tool called DirectX 9 Uninstaller. Extract it to the following directory: C:\DXTEMP NOTE: this directory is required for the tool to run properly! Step 2 - Safe Mode DirectX 9 Uninstaller will not work outside of safe mode, because system files it needs to replace are in use. Follow these steps to go into safe mode: Restart your computer. Hit F8 before windows logo will appear to go to mode selection. Now select Safe Mode. Step 3 - Removal In safe mode, to uninstall DirectX 9 using DirectX 9 Uninstaller, insert your Windows XP CD. Navigate to C:\DXTEMP and execute UnDx9.bat. Once the application has finished its job, restart your computer and DirectX 9 will no longer be installed. source |
