Rome Total War with no sound card
My sound card broke (as far as I can tell, it doesn't show up in the device manager, a third party hardware tool didn't see it the driver couldn't find it... it's broken) an Rome Total War encounters an "unspecified error" if you don't have a sound card. (found this on the total war forum)
Is there any way to get around this? I've patched the game already. |

Re: Rome Total War with no sound card
put your motherboard CD in your CD/DVD Drive and install the onboard sound card drivers if you haven't done that before
when done, go to control panel -> Sounds and Audio devices -> Audio and select the default device as the onboard card (there should be only the on-board card if the PCI sound card is broke)

Re: Rome Total War with no sound card
I didn't see a driver related to onboard sound for my motherboard. Is there anyway that I can check to see if my motherboard has it?
Here are the specs for my computer http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...roduct=1818480 Sorry for the trouble |

Re: Rome Total War with no sound card
maybe the onboard audio is not enabled in the BIOS
you should go into the BIOS and enable it to go to BIOS, restart your PC and keep pressing F2 or DEL (depending on your board and the BIOS in it) try to find an option in the BIOS to enable the built-in audio card
