motogp 08 pc problem

After install once I click on the launcher I get the screen that asks you English or Spanish, video setting, audio setting, etc. Once I click "ok" my screen goes black for approx 5 seconds then goes back to my desktop then goes back to black for approx 3 seconds then back to my desktop. There were no messages listed. I used the default installation and did not select a custom install.

I unistalled the game and exchanged it for a new one. I still get the same problems with the new one. On my original game I installed the patch that Capcom recommended and still nothing. I deleted the patch before I installed the new game. Still nothing.

My computer specs:
Dell Dimension 8400
Pentium 4 CPU 3.00 GHz (2 CPUs)
1.50 GB of RAM
Physical Address Extension
Video:
Radeon X1600 Series (0x71C2)
512 MB
Internal DAC (400 MHz)
Sound:
Sound Direct X 9.0c

Please help, this is so frustrating. Thank you.

Hi manspeaker and welcome to TSF,

Your system just meets the minimal requirements of the game so this is one good reason it might have problems starting.

First thing is to make sure all your drivers are up-to-date. To get the latest ATI drivers use my sig link.

Re: motogp 08 pc problem

Thank you for your reply. I updated to the newest driver and still have the same problems. No change at all. Any other recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Re: motogp 08 pc problem

Never happened before. Call of Duty 4 and Splinter Cell Double Agent work just fine.

Do you know what sound card you have?
sometimes games can be very picky if you have out-of-date sound card drivers.

I have a SoundMax Integrated Digital sound card. Do you know where I can get the latest driver for it? Thank you.

Re: motogp 08 pc problem

Do you mean what type of motherboard? Sorry, as you can tell, I'm not very computer savvy. My computer is a Dell Dimension 8400 if that tells anything?

Re: motogp 08 pc problem

I installed the driver and still have the same problem. However, on the set up screen to the game, when I disable sounds the game will play. Therefore, I am assuming that the SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio card will not work with this game??? Does anyone know if this card has worked with MotoGP 08? If there is no way it will work, what is a reasonable card to purchase?
