age of empires 3

I've loaded Age of Empires 3 on my PC and it runs fine, BUT each time I finish playing and shut down the computer the game won't re-load. The only way I can start playing again is to uninstall it and then re-install. When I do this it does work, but of course I'm having to start from the beginning each time. Anyone any ideas what I might be doing wrong?

hello royboy1 and welcome to TSF
when you say it never load, does it give an error of any sort? or just do nothing?
did you try to patch the game to the latest version?
and do you have similar problem with any other game?

hi, thanks for reply. Yes an error message does come up but it flashes off so quickly that all I've managed to read is 'error code 6'and something about failing to get the encryption code', although there is more to the message.

no I haven't tried to patch it, very new to all this so where would I go to do that?
And no, all the other games I have are fine.

ok this is the latest patch for the game :
http://aom.zone.com/MGS/ES/loc/patch...12-english.exe
after you finish the download, install it and restart your PC
then try to play the game again
