Assasins creed problems

i recently bought Assassins Creed from EB games,so i installed it,that went fine, updated, fine, and started playing, but the problem is that the game would either:

A) freeze and then you can resuming playing(this happens 3 times constantly)
or
B)the game crashes straight away

so i went into the games directory and tried Dx9,that was a failure,so now im not sure what else i can do.so far ive replaced the CD,still the same thing,Reinstalled, same thing.
I asked my friend and he suggests that its either my GPU or drivers so if anyone else has any suggestions that would be great.
Heres a list from Dxdiag on my specs

Re: Assasins creed problems

hello,
first of all your video card is a low end and will suffer very much running the game, HD 3400 is a low end card and is not meant for serious gaming
you could run the game and the lowest resolution and the lowest settings

I used to have some issues with Assassin's Creed, what I did to fix it :

Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio device, under speaker settings choose advanced -> performance, set the Hardware acceleration to BASIC (to steps to the left)

and also try this thread I made for Assassin's Creed

even if you have more the 1 gig RAM it'll help you

good luck

Re: Assasins creed problems

it's good but please can you post your PSU info?
HD 4870 is a high end card and needs a powerful PSU to power it

Re: Assasins creed problems

it would be the minimum spec for runnnig the Graphics card.

you don't want the minimum graphics so why supply the graphics minimally and wreck the card by maing the it struggle to give power

Corsair 750w PSU
$110
after rebate $90
