Farcry 2 issue

When I play Far cry 2 I use the alt+enter to put it at full-screen. When it goes to full-screen everything is green with slight changes in color that allow me to decipher what the menu says and stuff. When it is in windowed mode it is perfectly fine. Any ideas? NVidia drivers are up to date. I am running a 9800GTX+ with 2GB RAM and AMD Athlon X2 4200+

Does it look normal before you use Alt+Enter to go fullscreen?

Re: Farcry 2 issue

Have you tried running the game as fullscreen normally (no windowed mode).

Are you able to test what your GPU temp is under load, any game will do.
Are you able to take a screenshot of the green menu? It may help us narrow down the problem.

Re: Farcry 2 issue

try this fix :
Go in your (user)\Documents\My Games\Far Cry 2 folder and open up GamerProfile.xml. (to open that, right click on it and choose open with, open it with notepad)
Find (Maximized="0") change it to a 1 and save
try the game

Re: Farcry 2 issue

Just tried it. When i set maximize to 1 the game was like 4x too large for my screen and I could only see 1/4 of the game, but everything was the correct color. Then i tried fullscreen=1 and it started in full screen, but again everything was green.

P.S. dont think i was clear enough earlier but my GPU temp under load is 50 celsius. when browsing internet/whatever else it is around 35

Re: Farcry 2 issue

it's OK i have the game, so I can see the game profile.
retry the last attempt and when it's 4x bigger or something, try to go to the game's option and try to set a higher or lower resolution and see what happens.

Re: Farcry 2 issue

interesting. so i started to mess around with it like you said and i figured out that 1280x720 is the only resolution that goes green when i enter fullscreen mode. 1440x900, 1680x1050, 800x600 all work in full screen. any idea? might be my monitor....? thanks a lot rockmaster. sometimes i dont think too far outside the box

Re: Farcry 2 issue

try to lower the refresh rate of your monitor
maybe that could be causing the problem...
