COD 4 Multiplayer Problem

hey everyone i have problem with the cod 4 multiplayer everytime i go to join server no servers show up..solution plz? ps ive downloaded it again and again bout 3x

Hi Devildog89.
Try Mcninjaguys suggestion of patching the game.
If that doesn't work, please let us know where you have downloaded it from and list your system specs.

Ok ill def try that. i have to download patches 1.5 1.6 before 1.7 lol i have never played cod on pc i have been playing crysis lol. ill let u know how it goes. n another thing. if im downloading something say like Everest 2.20 but it keeps opening it thru Winzip, how do i change it and what do i change it to?? thx

You just need to right click on the zipped file and select extract, then select where you want the file to be extracted to.

Nvidia Geforce 9600 GT
Intel Pentium III Xeon 2666Mhz
Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 @ 2.66 Ghz

Have you updated the game to 1.7 yet??
And those specs are more than enough to play COD4.

I'm confused you just mentioned two different CPU's?

its the pentium 3 ( i doubt they're that fast)
or the C2D 8200?

Yeah, I don't understand the two CPU's either.
Did you use Everest to find out that information?

Make sure no firewalls are blocking the game. Try adding COD 4 to their exceptions list.
If you are using a router, go to http://portforward.com/, select your router and make sure the ports are forwarded for the game.

i did list 2 didnt i? lol.. yes i did use everest to find that out it. i dont know how to find out my specs without it..im using intel core duo 2 i remember.. but yeah ill go with the idea of the router because im using clearwire wireless ( not my choice in internet ) expecially for a desktop.

my cod 4 still isnt showing servers which is weird cuz a couple times ago when i had it installed it showed servers but i couldnt play cuz i didnt have punkbuster.

Just noticed your other thread, the one where you said you can't connect see any servers for Crysis Wars.
The problems are very likely related.
Did you try forwarding the ports required for the games like I posted above?
Have you made sure that the games are added to Firewall exceptions lists?
Try turning off AntiVirus/Instant Messaging programs before running the games.

Are you able to connect to any online server for any game at all?

I have AVG virus scan and it has resident shield and web shield. should i try to turn those off? and my firewall says its allowing call of duty. i uninstalled CW cuz it was makin me mad ill reinstall it tomorrow and check the firewall on it.

Could going to add a port help any?

i did try the port forwarding but idk what port im useing i couldnt find clearwire. and the only IM messaging is windows live. i exed that out and still nothing, would plugging in my headset work? thats what ive been hearing people do.
