Battle Feild 2 - FPS Drop
I've been all over the place, and tried a lot of things but I can't get anything to work.
Basically I'm playing bf2, and regardless of whether or not I'm in single player or multilayer the FPS goes from 90 to 15 about 7 minutes into the game, every single time. The game continues to do this until I exit out of the game and reload it. I'm using lowest on everything, and before anybody says it I have 3 gigs of ram. Just got it in fact, to see if it would solve this little problem. A few system specs --> AMD 64 Athlon X2 with Windows XP installed. While I'm playing the CPU'S Temp is about 60 degrees C. If you need more information (and I bet you will) just let me know. I'll post whatever I can. Side Note: This is new, it didn't happen before (and I've had BF2 for about a year). Also, I've recently defragged my system. Please Help --> I'm clueless.

Re: Battle Feild 2 - FPS Drop
Thanks for the replies!
I'll use compressed air right now to try to get the dust out of my PC, but when I opened it up to install the new RAM it appeared alright. I just installed that AMD Dual Core Fix and restarted and no luck... now it lags at 15 fps all the time instead of just after 7 minutes. Please more suggestions! |

Re: Battle Feild 2 - FPS Drop
Aight
RAM: 512 on the graphics card - 3 gig's on the computer CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3600+ Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT While I was scrounging around for these I read specs that I think thought were odd, " Total Physical Memory: 3,072 Mb Available Physical Memory: 1.86 GB - Total Virtual Memory: 2.00 GB - Available Virtual Memory: 1.96 - Page File Space: 5.84 GB " Should there really be 5.84 gb's for pagefile? And is that total physical memory about what you'd expect? By the way BF2 now lags at 15 fps all the time (single and multi) and as an added bonus so do my other games :D :( For the Motherboard and PSU is there any way I can find those without ripping off the case? I looked for the Motherboard in my dxdiag and didn't see it and I'd prefer not to dismantle the computer for the PSU. |
