[SOLVED] Audio problem with new games

Hi all, first post on this forum

I am having an audio problem with a couple of new games i own, these are farcry 2 and mirrors edge.

The characters speech audio is only audible when my playes view is side on to the character speaking, i suppose this is supposed to be as the sound is only entering my right or left ear, and if my left ear is facing the character his audio will only come out my left speaker, and vice verca.

this would be ok but when a speaking character is in the center of the screen his audio can be heard in both speakers but very very quiet or not at all.

I only have a pair of desktop speakers and i am using internal motherboard sound which is radeon HD.

any help is appreciated.

Re: Audio problem with new games

Hi, welcome to TSF

Change the output from '5.1 Surround Sound' to 'Desktop Stereo Speakers' in your audio control panel, or the equivalent setting in the in-game audio options.

Control Panel > Sounds & Audio Devices > Audio tab > Advanced button > Speaker Setup dropdown menu.
