[SOLVED] NFS Carbon low fps in Vista

I have NFS Carbon and when I play in Vista it gets great framerates but periodically drops down to near 0 and it makes it unplayable. when I play in XP I do not have the problem. no vista support I guess

have you downloaded the 1.4 Patch? it's meant for windows Vista

http://largedownloads.ea.com/pub/patches/NFS/carbon/

just select the version (carbon or collector's edition) and select your language, the download should start then.

I have been trying to play Far Cry 2 and Grand Theft Auto 4. When I play
FC2 My frame rates average about 15, no matter what settings I use in game the FPS is always the same. and GTA4 averages about 8 FPS I have giving up on it. I would love to be able to play it as I spent $50 each on those games and there tech support sucks. If anyone has any ideas or info that might help me out I would appreciate it. Thanks

Thanks, that worked great. Although my FPS isnt quite where I would like, the game runs smooth now.

what is your specs on the pc, how many processes are you running and what anti virus are you using

I have 54 processes Running in vista 64bit.
I have a XFX 750a SLI motherboard with a Phenom 9500, 4 gig corsair dominator pc2 8500, 2 X EVGA GTX 260 core 216 vidio cards in Sli.
am I missing anything?

CPU
