Using LCD TV As PC Monitor Issues With Games
I had once had an older desktop hooked to my 32" lcd tv via the VGA port and as long as the resolution was set properly and the refresh rate was set to 60htz everything worked beautifully. Yesterday I bought a new computer and hooked it to the same tv via component video cables since the new computer is only capable of 30 htz or 29htz apparently, thus it will not work through vga with my tv.
Everything works fine until I try to play a game. Any game I try to play flickers when it loads and after about a minute of constant flickering the screen goes completely black and will not change and the only way to get things back to normal is to power cycle. My current resolution is set to 1024x728 at 30htz. Having hooked a computer to this same tv previously and seeing as how it works fine until a game is launched it seems to me the issue is in the settings somewhere. Any help will be greatly appreciated. |

Re: Using LCD TV As PC Monitor Issues With Games
set the TV back to 60hz
who told you that lie about your computer only running at 30hz? computers don't push out hertz they push out FPS (frames per second) and a TV has a set limit it can show although you can go over it it 60hz = 60FPS Last edited by Mcninjaguy; 02-27-2009 at 02:15 PM. |
