Re: [SOLVED] COD 5 not starting...

put your DVD in the DVD Drive and when autorun starts just close it.
browse into the DVD content, (go to "Computer" right click on the DVD Drive and choose open)
now when you are in the DVD folder mark all stuff you see there and copy them

now go to C: directory make a new folder called COD5 for example and paste the files from the DVD
that way you copied the DVD content to your hard disk, so install the game from your hard disk and not from the DVD

ok is the DVD scratched?
can you test it on other PC?
if the same problem persist on another PC I suggest you replace the DVD with another one

Re: CoD5 "please insert the CD"

does your DVD/CD drive have anyotherproblems with other CD's / DVD's

try teseting a bunch because maybe your DVD drive is brken / needs a firmaware update

post exact make and model of DVD drive (might be easy to take DVD drive drive and post the numbers on the label)

Re: CoD5 "please insert the CD"

yes indeed, DVD Drives are cheap and easy to replace, I don't think the firmware could do much if the DVD drive is old, maybe it's time for it to die

Re: CoD5 "please insert the CD"

those are really good guidelines but my computer is the newest and it can read every else my pc games exept call of duty world at war. I got the same problem with cod 4 before and for sometime I waited and waited it started to read the cd again but now I have the same problem with cod (waw).

I really dont think that I need to replace with new DVD driver, and also I dont think that I have some kind of virus that blocks only and just only my cod waw.

there must be somekind like fire wall or something is blocking it to read (that was just example) I tested that already

Re: CoD5 "please insert the CD"

try cleaning the DVD

just run the DVD under water
then clean it off with a kleenex or two

Re: CoD5 "please insert the CD"

~S~

Had the same problem with the no cd. Copied the CD file from another PC to another disk. That one then opened in my PC and was able to download to desktop. The next problem was the black screen crashing due to sound problems. Fixed this by going to device manager and disabling the unimodem half-duplex audio device. The changing of this to disable is a pain, just to play is horse duyy.... but I payed good moneyfor this game and I am going to at lease get some time out of it. P.S. PLEASE remember to change it back to enable this device, as I am not sure what problems it may cause if you do not.
