Virus?

Ok so I launch cs 1.6, and i go into a deathmatch and then when i try to move my mouse, i move it, and then there is this delay and 5 seconds later the mouse moves, sometimes its normal, sometimes when i shoot the button gets held down still when i stopped pressing it, so there is major lag here. I also noticing that it happens when I'm moving side to side with my keyboard, it lag too. What do I do? I scanned with avg and ad-aware, could this virus be secret? How do I fix this problem without reformatting or something? PLZ HELP!!!

Re: Virus?

Ok. I have latest drivers, game is up to date, nothing running in backround with the exception of ventrilo, my system specs are

Windows XP Performance Edition Pro, SP3
Intel Pentium 4 1.6GHz
1GB of RAM
Nvidia GeForce 440MX.
2 IDE Harddrives, 74gb, 34gb.
I don't know what psu it is since its a dell and I never checked...

It's an upgraded very old dell, from 256mb to 1GB, and from geforce 2 to geforce 4, 34gb hd to another 74gb.

I think its a virus, but any other ideas?

Re: Virus?

What happens if you disable Ventrilo while gaming?

What antivirus programs have you scanned with, and did they find anything?

If you're still using the original Dell PSU after the upgrades, it's probably too weak. Dell use PSUs that are only just powerful for the original specs, and are not suitable for upgrades.

Remove the side panel from the case and post back with the make/model and total watts listed on the PSU label.

If you think your computer is infected, please follow these instructions and start a new thread in the Virus/Trojans/Spyware forum where an analyst will help you as soon as possible.
