Oblivion wont start!

Well i have been playing oblivion for a while now and i tried to launch the game and a window appears in the corner then it goes into full screen mode and it just cuts out and goes to the desktop. there is no error messages or any explanation whatsoever. i have no add ons no mods no expansions no nothing please help!?

Backup your saved game data and try a re-install.
XP/Vista: My Documents > My Games > Oblivion

i have tried reinstalling it but it still wont work

Have you updated any drivers lately. Have you updated the game?
