COD5 WaW online Freezes at Load

hi i just bought cod5 and i bought a new video card. it is a e-GeForce 8600GT with all this stuff, so i am pretty sure it should work. As you may or may not can tell, i don't know anything about computers and this is my 1st game i have bought for a pc. anyway, i got the 1.1 patch and loaded it and it works but when i pick a game to join it goes to the load screen (for example, it has the asylum backround and it says asylum and what not) and starts to load. but thats it! it just freezes there and i have to restart my computer. and if i try to play the solo mission offline, the game goes to begin where it starts introducing the story and the game just starts skipping and freezes up on me! does anyone have any clues?? your help would be greatly appreciated! i bought the game and card from circuit city which is going out of business so i can't return it!!

Ok what are your system specifications so that we can check you are able to run this game? You can download everest home edition: http://majorgeeks.com/download4181.html
Or you can just right click on my computer and then click properties for some simple info.

lol this is all jibba jabber to me, i hope it helps you though.!

i also installed that file you recommended, here is some of what i found, it wont let me copy and paste so here is some things i found in computer summary, its a lot so here is what i think might be important:

Directx: directx 9.0c (the video card i installed said it was directx10 ready though, i assumed that is what i should have now?)

CPU Type: Intel Pentium 4 630, 3000 MHz (15 x 200)
motherboard chipset: intel grantsdale-G i915G
system memory: 512 MB (pc3200 ddr sdram)
BIOS Type: intel(2/14/05)
communication port (COM1)

Display
Video adapter: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT (1024MB)

Multimedia
Audio Adapter: intel 8280 1FB ICH6 - high def audio controller [B-1]

IDE Controller intel(r) 8280 1fb ATA storage controllers - 2651
IDE controller Intel(r) 8280 1fb/fbm ultra ATA storage controllers - 266F

partitions
c: 186128 MB (150232 MB free)
D: 4642 MB (1531 MB free)
total size: 186.3 GB (148.2 GB free)

i am sure i gave you too much info but i dont know! i am now looking in memory and perhaps it is a memory issue?? anyway here is what it says..

physical memory
Total: 509MB
Used: 385MB
Free 124 MB
utilization: 76%

that seems like a lot to me, do i need more memory to run the game?

anyway, im sure you know there is a lot more info in this program that you told me to install, if there is anything else that you need to know please ask! maybe you can call me or i can call you?? please reply to me! it will be greatly appreciated once again! thank you for your time!
oh and i know it says the the game wont run on a chipset (whatever that is) but i thought i fixed that when i bought the video card

Re: COD5 WaW online Freezes at Load

I would say get more ram

for a XP gaming system 1 gb is minimum and 2 gb is recommended

for Vista 32 bit
2 gigs is the minimum and 3 gigs (max is 3.2 gigs and getting 2 x 2gigs of ram is the way to go) is recommended

for Vista 64 bit
2 is min
4 gigs is recommended

Ram that is compatible with your comp is this

Kingston ValueRAM 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200)
$53

Re: COD5 WaW online Freezes at Load

Yeah, i would also recommend more RAM. COD:WAW requires quite a bit to run smoothly.
Hope this helps; Try the link in ninjaguys last post ;)
