Fallout 3 screen flicker problem

Hi i have a strange problem with fallout 3 and i want to know if anyone can help me,

when i load up a save game, the whole screen flickers on and off very quickly, however when i pause the game it stops and displays the game fine, then play again and it begins to flicker again.

the game was running perfectly before, i had no problems then, this problem began from nowhere.

i have tried changing the resolution and all the graphical settings, as well as reinstalling the game, but still it doesn't stop it.

does anybody know what this may be?

video card
cpu
m/board
ram
power supply
brand
wattage

check the listings in the bios for voltages and temperatures and post them

M/Board : LanParty UT nF4 Ultra-D
Cpu : AMD athlon 64 processor 3500+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.2GHz
Video : ATI Gigabyte HD 4670 512MB
Ram : 1GB
Max temp in game : 38 C
dont know power supply or wattage

before the problem began, game ran fine at at about 35-40 fps at 1240 x 1024 resolution

take the side off the case and look at the label
