Hamachi Help required
I am trying to play supreme commander with 5 others.
4 are in another house and i can connect to them and ping their computers without issues. however when my housemate connects to a game i am unable to see him, also i cannot ping his computer through hamachi, this is also true for him. My computer is connected directly to the router (netgear DG834GT) and he is connected to the router through a Ethernet switch. i have tried connecting through the switch and also connecting his computer to the router, this doesnot solve the problem. I am running windows XP and he is running Vista. any solution would be greatly appreciated, and can give more information if neccisary. the 4 others are running a lan using different versions of windows on the same router and it is working perfectly so i cant think of any reason ours isn't working. please help |

Re: Hamachi Help required
Hi.
Are you able to access or ping his computer just through windows? Does the ethernet adapter on the back of his computer light up when connected? Have you tried a different cable to connect his PC? Also, why use hamachi for SupCom? Don't like GPGNet? |

Re: Hamachi Help required
i can ping his router given IP but not his hamachi ip. and the router does light up when the wires are connected, we have used a differfent wire.
the reason for using hamachi is that gpgnet doesnt allow 2 people from the same connection to play in the same game. Hamachi does...atleast it would if it was working :P also the firewall is off on both pcs Last edited by BenGUK09; 01-31-2009 at 06:16 AM. |

Re: Hamachi Help required
I had a problem like this a long time ago, Vista wouldn't see my XP machine and vice versa.
I had to install the LLTD update on my XP machine to sort it out. Link: http://www.microsoft.com/DOWNLOADS/details.aspx?familyid=4F01A31D-EE46-481E-BA11-37F485FA34EA&displaylang=en Hope it helps. |
