Crysis but not Dawn of War?

Hello.

I recently tried the Crysis SP demo just to see if my pc could run it. It ran fine, fast loading, good FPS, a few medium settings.

Then I tried the Dawn of War 2 beta.
I cannot run it, I don't meet the minimum requirements for it!

This is so annoying, Crysis but not DOW2???? WTH.

This is alarming because I wanted to buy DOW2 when it comes out but I don't want to spend $60 on a coaster.

Why is this?
How can I trick the game to run on my computer?
My specs are in the "My System" Tab under my name.
You can find the min specs on Steams` website.

To be honest I'm surprised you actually got Crysis running.
I don't think there is anyway to 'trick' games into running. They are called minimum requirements for a reason.

Even if you could get it to run I doubt it would be playable. The first iteration of the Essence engine used in COH was quite taxing on the GPU. DOW2 uses an updated version of that so I imagine it would be an even greater strain on the GPU.

Oh yeah Crysis runs faster than HL2 at max and Crysis has some settings at medium and one at high

Cool. Mind if I ask what you've got your 6200 clocked at?

I've seen a guy with this system:
AMD 2400+
2Gb DDR RAM
Nvidia 6200

All on stock settings get 15FPS in Crysis.
He was running these settings:
800x600
Physics - High
Textures - Medium
Everything Else - Low

Maybe just toss some additional memory in there for good measure....find a good cooling solution and OC the S.O.B.

400 Core 700 Memory.

I got the same settings except water is at medium too. And I get more than 15 FPS its around 25 maybe 30 very smooth. Yeah I am going to get a new 'computer' within this year absolutely, maybe even this February.
