New video card, want to run some tests in games

I'm not too sure how to go about doing so. I've got a bunch of games such as COD4, Spore, Oblivion, even Crysis. Other than an FPS test, is there stuff I should test? Like a proper way to do things to measure how well it is performing. Thanks to anyone who can assist me with this.

BTW, around 30 fps in Crysis on high, without A.A.

can you post your specs?

RAM
CPU
Motherboard
PSU
Graphics Card

you can download FRAPS. it tells you how many FPS while palying a game. It not an exact science since it will slow down the FPS depending on your system

Re: New video card, want to run some tests in games

I was using FRAPS, but I want to do more than just measure the fps in game. I'm not sure what else they would check, but they should be able to check more stuff. Computer is an m8425f HP desktop with a bit of upgrades

3GB Ram
Q6700 Quad Core CPU
IPIBL-LB (Benicia) Motherboard (name gotten of HP site)
OCZ 700W
XFX 9800GT

It's a good setup, I can max out most settings in most games, but I just want to run some proper tests. I maxed Oblivion with 60 fps, but it only recommended medium settings. I'm going to be trying out something like Unreal Tournament 3 or Gears of War to test the physx engine. I am planning on UT3 because of the physx mod they released specifically for the physx stuff. So far the only game I couldn't max was Crysis, and I've tried stuff like Oblivion, L4Dead, COD4.

nice setup yep! yep!

umm you can try 3D mark vantage
that will give you a number you can compare to other PC's

its a good stress tester but maybe you're willing to overclock you video card to get more performance?
maybe overclock you CPU too but you'd have to buy some new thermal paste and a good CPU cooler which will cost around $50 to $70
