[SOLVED] Left 4 Dead problems

when i play l4d it starts fine then starts glitching and skips large chunks of frames. I play on the highest settings and 1440x900 res. i dont think that is an issue because i usually never go under 60fps
So if anyone knows anything about this please help...
Thanks

Re: Left 4 Dead problems

What are you running in the background, if you are using too much, for example TS or VT, then you could always stop. Also you can upgrade ram to have some more speed/memory. But if you wish to keep them, then graphics and res can always be toned down so the computer doesn't have to do too much.

Re: Left 4 Dead problems

as far as a weak point i wouldnt think so.i play l4d on max settings at 1680x1050,but i have a better video card.thats why i suggested maybe backing down the setting.see what affect that has,and post back.

Re: Left 4 Dead problems

try this
go to Steam\Steamapps\Common\Left 4 Dead\left4dead\cfg

in cfg folder create a new text document open it and copy this line in it
mat_queue_mode 0
save it and rename the txt file autoexec.cfg

(to do that you have to uncheck the hide extension for known file types, to do that, open any folder, choose tools --> folder options --> view and locate the "hide extension for known file types" and uncheck it)

Re: Left 4 Dead problems

Or you could just disable Multicore Rendering in the game options (It's in the graphics section).
