JPOG help!!!!!

I just downloaded this game called Jurassic Park : Operation Gensis for my little brothers laptop. The system specs should be alot higher than the game requires since his laptop is an alienware laptop and supposedly has everything for gaming.

He can play games like supreme commander, so he should be able to play this game.

Well, when he tries to play the game he clicks on the shortcut, icon in startmenu, etc. and a dos window pops up with nothing in it....and nothing happens. The game wont run, nothing happens. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall, ran a virus scan, tried running the game with and without the game cd and nothing seems to work.

Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi Stix_SR and welcome to TSF,

Please post the specs of your brothers PC.

Also where did you obtain a copy of the game.

Re: JPOG help!!!!!

Hi Aus_Karlos and thank you, I bought this game off of amazon.com. Its the only place that had the game. I think i might have found the cause of the problem on another one of these threads in here.

Heres the link I found abt the problem im having

http://s58.photobucket.com/albums/g2...=GameError.flv

Its thesame exact issue except, the game will not load. Instead the little dos menu stays up for a few seconds and then disappears. Not sure what to do.

Any suggestions?

Re: JPOG help!!!!!

Right-click on the games shortcut and go to properties. Go to the compatibility tab and check the box "Compatibility Mode" and select Windows 98. You also might need to check the other box that states "Run this program as an Administrator"

Re: JPOG help!!!!!

i think that there might be an issue with the copy of the game i bought now. I noticed yesterday that when i went to uninstall the game that the game itself took up no space on his computer? so i think its the game itself

Re: JPOG help!!!!!

lil bro went and got another copy of the game...he found one at one of the game stores around here....and still having the same issue. Only the command prompt comes up and the game wont work. The game is still not taking up memory in the computer, so I dont know whats wrong. I will have to call alienware to check on whats going on.

Re: JPOG help!!!!!

Try and get in contact with the makers of the game. By the looks of it SP3 or recent updates have broken the game.
