Re: gta 4 requirement....

It definitely won't run with SP2. I tried and had to upgrade to SP3 to get it working.

Re: gta 4 requirement....

http://www.freedownloadmanager.org/ may help get a better speed and would also resume the download if it fails.

Sorry to hear that your internet is so slow. :(

Re: gta 4 requirement....

Do you know anyone who has already downloaded SP3? You can burn their file to CD and then install on your computer.

If you'd like another recommendation for a download manager, I've been using FlashGet for years with no problems.

Re: gta 4 requirement....

If the download fails, please consider using a download manager as they make downloads on unreliable connections a bit less of a haste.

Re: gta 4 requirement....

You don't need Firefox to use a download manager. IE or Opera will do the same job.

Smile Re: gta 4 requirement....

That's unfortunate. It's hard to tell what is killing the download without some testing.

The first thing you could do is do a tracert of microsoft.com and see where there is any loss or latency.

This web based test finds problems and offers suggestions for fixing them: http://www.dslreports.com/linequality

Or at least I'm under the impression that it does... I have never used it.

Re: gta 4 requirement....

Please start a new thread in the XP or Firefox forums. This is no longer a gaming problem.
