[SOLVED] L4D got problem sometimes..

i played L4D but sometimes it automatically closes and go back to desktop without any error messages or warning. this problem sometimes come out. it gets very irritating when it gets to exciting part or something it just go back to desktop! please read through my dxdiag information thx.

what are your cpu temps on idle?

go to your bios and find the temps for your CPU

can you post your system specs

RAM
CPU
MOTHERBOARD
GRAPHICS CARD
PSU (power supply unit)

dxdiag does not give your PSU details. You need to remove the side panel from your computer case and copy down the make/model, total watts, and +12V amps from the label on the side of the PSU.

Weak PSUs are a common cause of games crashing, especially during heavy graphically-intensive action which puts extra strain on the +12V line.

To see your idle temperatures and PSU voltages, boot into BIOS.

Thanks for posting your solution. You shouldn't have to disable any of the cores, so post back if the problem returns.

Sorry, I thought you meant you'd changed the CPU affinity to use just one core of a dual core CPU. If 'multicore rendering' is an in-game option, you should be ok.
