The Punisher sound problems

I installed the game named punisher...the game works fine and i can listen the sounds in the menu....as soon i go into the mission the sound goes into a mute.....i updated my soundmax driver.. still in vain...can anyone help me please.....

try reinstalling your default sound card drivers

i tried reinstalling my sound card drivers....but still i find the same problem.....

what are your system specs?

RAM
CPU
Motherboard
Video Card
PSU (power supply unit)

try installing the latest directx drivers

My sys specs

RAM 1 GB
CPU Intel Pentium 4 CPU 1.8 GHz
Motherboard D865GBF
Video Card Geforce 6600 256 mb
PSU 230 V

I Installed the latest direct x drivers(directx 10 for XP) still no change.

XP doesn't have direct x 10

XP has directx 9.2c

install this driver/or is this driver already installed?

i installed the drivers from the link u gave....still the sound is not working....
