try downloading this program memtest86
http://www.memtest86.com/download.html

this program checks if your ram has any errors

irun this program with 1stick of ram installed at a time and let it go for at least 3 passes each preferably 6+ passes for each stick of ram

If you have more than 1 stick of RAM its recommended that you take the others out and test each RAM stick one by one in the different RAM slots that your RAM uses.
Sometimes testing more than one sticks at a time and give fake errors.

Most laptops usually have 1 stick of RAM installed, just run memtest and during the test it will show you how many sticks of RAM you have.

usually the first stick of ram is right under the keyboard.

The empty slot is on the bottom of the laptop
