When I try intall the discs normally it says that a file is missing and that is just a pile of @#$% because it works fine on my XP help if you can either to get the flashdrive or the normal way to work THX a lot I really do apreciat this.

Hi.
What graphics card are you running on the Toshiba?
It probably isn't running on the Tablet because you cant simply transfer the files onto the hard drive, when a game installs, it add a bunch of entries into the registry which it needs to run.
Have you tried copying all of the files off of the disc onto a folder on the Toshiba and installing it from there?

Re: Rome Total War Vista help

You can check your graphics card by going Start > Type 'dxdiag' > Press Enter.
It should tell you under the 'Display' tab.

Did you actually install the game using the flash drive? Or did you install the game on the other laptop, then copy those files over to the Toshiba one?

Edit: Does it tell you which file is missing when you try and install it normally?

Re: Rome Total War Vista help

the Intel 945GM graphics are extremely crappy and I expect no less from Intel integrated graphics

so that's your problem your graphics card can't support the game

Make sure to look at the specs for the laptop closely

integrated = desktop programs only
a separate video card = able to play games

Re: Rome Total War Vista help

well you can't upgrade unless I'm wrong but laptops don't have expansion slots
and your laptop does have a expansion slot for a pci-e16 card
lookie here
http://www.intel.com/products/chipsets/gma950/index.htm

you could get an external video card but they're no better than the onboard ones

When they say total memeory for a video card they are talking about shared memory and dedicated and you probably have around 128mb for dedicated memory

now there hard part is finding and installing laptop video card

i would like you to checkk with a computer tech at your local computer shop to se if you can put in a video card and where to get a good one

now this is a UK site and they specialize in upgrading laptops the can ship a bunch of places across the world including Us and Canada
