Problems with games ?

I just got a new computer not too long ago. And i noticed this persistent issue. Whenever I play games ( so far this has happened twice to me; both times whilst gaming), after a while the monitor blacks out with the sign no signal and the LED on the monitor turns orange. I have tried adjusting the wires and both the VGA n HDMI wires are properly connected to the monitor and cpu. However the monitor's LED still is orange. Only when i turn off both my cpu and monitor and turn it on again does the monitor work. Does anyone know the reason why?

Here are the specs for my computer:

Acer Core 2 Quad Q9400
4GB DDRII Ram
640GB HDD
nVidia Geforce 9600GS
Vista Home Premium

Thx

Re: Problems with games ?

Hi.
Does it happen instantly after you launch a game or after a while of playing?
Make sure there are no sleep settings on the monitor.

Go into your control panel and into power options and make sure it is set to never turn the monitor off.
