Lag during game on same network

Me and My friend play starcraft on same network but when we play 2v2 or higher we lag a lot. I want to know if there is something i have to do with my router like portfowarding or something. My router is Linksys WRT54G THX FOR ALL THE HELP IN ADVANCE!

Are you guys playing online? or just a local network game between the two of you? Do you or your friend have any downloads going (torrents, limewire, itunes, etc...)?

I'm also going to move this to the gaming section.

yea we are playing online me and him when we join the same game and it is like 2v2 or higher we lag the game and if it is 1v1 just us 2 no lag. We do not have no download going on. And it cool about moving it thx for the fast reply btw

what kind on internet speed do you have anything over 3- 4 mbs should be fast enough
