World of Goo demo not working

I recently downloaded a world of goo demo but when ever I go to run it I get an error message flash quickly then vanish on the screen and it doesn't work. I don't know what the message says so I don't know whats wrong with it. I tried re-installing it and downloading directx as someone suggested too me. Still getting the same flashing error message then nothing. I run windows XP on a HP media center PC m1199a if that helps. I hope someone can help me because I would love to play this game.

install service pack 3 on your computer
