Might and Magic VI

Hey, there. I'm having trouble running a game called Might and Magic VI, one of my favourite games for the PC for a number of reasons, an old game designed for us with Windows 98/00, but still worked on XP...for a while. Anyway, for some strange reason, after having been able to play it for a while, the game now freezes on the main menu screen.

I'm running it on Windows XP SP2. The disc is perfectly alright with no scratches. The installations and re-installations were all spotless. Now, I understand that due to the almost non-existent fanbase, help for a game like this may not be easy to find but I'll give it a shot. Also, I've tried bunches of solutions to the problem all over the net, but can't find anything that helps. Just tell me what you need to know about the computer's configuration and stuff.
