Clock interrupt
Didn't really know where to put this thread since my crashes are only happening in games, but I'm reasonably sure it's a hardware issue.
Not all games do this, Neverwinter nights 2 seems to be the worst, but a variety of others do as well, after playing for a pretty random amount of time, 5 minutes to 20 minutes or so, the system will hang, sometimes loop sound, then go to a blue screen that says "a clock interrupt failed to be received on a secondary processor during the alotted time interval." It does a memory dump and then restarts. The weirdest part though, is that the blue screen is difficult to see or read because the screen is shaking almost. The far left is perfectly still, about half an inch over there is a blurry line, another half an inch and there are two blurry lines, etc, until on the right side of the screen, the whole thing is shaking like its possessed. This issue seems to be worse with heat, but I've opened the case, dusted it, and I'm running it in an open, cool area with a chill mat that props it up and blows two fans on it. It's never more than warm to the touch. MSI Notebook GX710 Stock specs except that I have replaced the two 1 gig sticks of ram with 2 2gig corsair sticks. The problem has been the same before and after. This is my first time posting for help on a forum, I usually find answers through google searches, but if there is an easy way to post my entire system specs, let me know. |
