cod5 lags

I played Cod 4 on my system and it did not lag at all and could play it on avarage graphics and it did not lag. But COD5 lags on the lowest graphics and only starts laging after a while of playing 10 min in to the game can it be that my pc is to old heres my specs.
2g ram 3.ghz cpu and a 8600gt 256mb

maybe try running it as administrator?

right click on the game's .exe file and go into properties and run as administrator
