Counterstrike Source failed to load
I'm totally out of ideas with this one. I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 on a 2.8GHZ Pentium D, 3GB DDR2 with XFX GeForce 8600GT. I used to run Half-Life Anthology (which includes Blue-Shift, Opposing Force and others) and Counterstrike Source on WinXP Pro previously on the same machine and it runs fine. Until I upgraded to Vista Ultimate, I found only Half-Life Anthology can run. CS: Source crashes when I tried to create own game server and load any random map with/without bots. BUT, connecting to Internet servers work without a hitch.
I have removed and reinstalled Steam and the games countless times and sent a report to Steam heldesk, but still awaiting their reply. I hope someone can shed some light on this. Thank you. |
